By using ChessPly, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What ChessPly does

ChessPly connects to your lichess account (via lichess's own OAuth login), analyzes your recent games with a chess engine, and generates a short narrated video recap. Recaps are uploaded to YouTube as unlisted videos and shared with you by link.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You must connect your own lichess account — connecting an account you don't own, or one you're not authorized to use, is not allowed.

Fair use

Recap generation is currently limited (a small daily cap across all users) while this is early and free. We may introduce paid tiers with different limits in the future — we'll announce that clearly before it happens, and existing free usage won't just disappear without notice.

Content

Recap videos are generated from your own real game data using an AI model for narration. They're meant to be a helpful, coach-style summary — not professional chess coaching, and not guaranteed to be error-free. Don't rely on a recap as your only source of truth about a game; check the actual moves on lichess if it matters.

No warranty

ChessPly is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee the service will always be available, error-free, or that recaps will be generated for every day you play.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
